Our team of nursing staff, medical and orthopedic physicians, and physical and occupational therapists work together to develop a recovery plan and to help patients achieve it. Staff and Services Patients of the Joint Care Center (JCC) have the unique benefit of recovering from surgery under the supervision of nurses with expertise in joint care, including registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and patient care technicians. A Patient Care Manager, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, oversees the Joint Care Center programs. The staff works with the patient's medical and surgical team of physicians and therapists to develop the treatment program and monitor the patient's progress. Before surgery, JCC patients and their family and friends participate in a session that includes evaluation by a pre-admission nurse as well as education with physical therapy specialists. When a patient is ready to be discharged from the Joint Care Center, our staff can provide referrals for home care or an outpatient physical therapy program. Caring for the Community In addition to providing patient care, our staff is active in community education. They provide a bi-weekly pre-op class on on hip and knee care and a monthly seminar/educational class on hip and knee pain. See our Calendar of Events for upcoming sessions.
