Our Pharmacy provides efficient, cost effective and state-of-the-art
pharmacy services to our patients, medical staff, nursing, other
ancillary departments, and the community at large.
Pharmacy services include:
- 24-hour, 7-day unit dose service for inpatients;
- chemotherapy and Infusion Center satellite;
- whole-house IV-additive service;
- drug information services using electronic databases and print media;
- medication monitoring services;
- extensive participation in the medication selection process for the hospital formulary;
- educational in-services for hospital staff; and
- educational community outreach.
In addition, the Pharmacy is a teaching site for:
- graduate and undergraduate pharmacy students from Duquesne
University and the University of Pittsburgh; and
- technician students from CCAC and The Western School of Allied
Health Professions.
Drug Information Research
The Pharmacy encourages patients to research medications that are
prescribed to them or to learn about new medications. The following
