A psychiatrist is a physician who specializes in the prevention,
diagnosis, and treatment of mental and emotional disorders, such
as
- depression,
- psychoses,
- anxiety disorders,
- developmental disabilities,
- sexual dysfunctions, and
- adjustment reactions.
Psychiatrists are able to understand the biological, psychological,
and social components of illness. They can prescribe diagnostic
laboratory tests and prescribe medications. In addition, they can
evaluate and treat psychological and interpersonal problems.

patients through our Behavioral Health
Services.
