Living Accommodations

We can help you to assess your housing needs, explain the different types of living accommodations, and give you a list of the options in your area.  We maintain current information on local subsidized housing, respite care, assisted living facilities, personal care homes, nursing homes, and retirement communities.

In-home Assistance

We understand the desire to live comfortably in your own home.  We have compiled an extensive list of agencies and self-employed caretakers. These referrals can assist with housecleaning, laundry, transportation, personal care, food preparation, and errands.   

Assistance Programs

Our professional specialists are trained to be able to evaluate eligibility for a variety of programs ranging from low-income utility assistance to rent rebates.

Medicare Insurance Selection

Senior Services at Jefferson Regional participates in Pennsylvania’s APPRISE program, which helps older Pennsylvanians and other Medicare enrollees understand their benefits. Counselors help seniors answer questions about health insurance policies and entitlements.  They can also explain bills and Medicare statements.  Counselors can help organize insurance-related paperwork, file claims, and assist with Medicare appeals.  The program is coordinated by the Pennsylvania Department on Aging through its network of 52 local area agencies on aging.  .

Transportation

Senior Services at Jefferson Regional is an officially designated site for Access and PAT Bus applications.  Come see us and we can help you to apply for these services.  You must apply in person.  Please bring a current photo-identification.
