Heart problems can surface in a number of ways — from minor warning signs during your annual physical to severe chest pains when you least expect it. Experienced physicians know how to look for those clues, how to use advanced medical technology to get all of the facts, and when and how a treatment program should begin.

At Jefferson Regional Medical Center, our Cardiac Diagnostics program features medical experts who are skilled at using state-of-the-art equipment to uncover a potential heart problem or accurately diagnose a crisis condition. Our new Heart Institute is designed to provide both emergency and maintenance diagnostic patients, and our Emergency Department is home to equipment and physicians who specialize in urgent cardiac diagnostics.

We can provide the following diagnostic services in our new, high-tech facility.
  • Blood work, including the latest in cardiac markers
  • Cardiac catheterization
  • Cardiac Magnetic Resonant Imaging (MRI)
  • Cardiac stress testing
  • Echocardiography, including two-dimensional echo, color Doppler, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and stress echo
  • Electrocardiograms
  • Electrophysiology, including tilt table testing
  • Holter monitoring
  • Non-invasive vascular tests, including arterial and venous Doppler of the carotid arteries and veins and arteries of the arms and legs
  • Nuclear cardiology, including treadmill or pharmacological stress testing with imaging
  • Peripheral vascular angiography
  • Signal average EKGs
Our physicians, nurses, assistants and technicians have the experience needed to quickly zero in on the exact nature of your condition.
