Three Administrative Team Members Named to Leadership Positions

Three members of the administrative team at Jefferson Regional Medical Center have been appointed to leadership positions with professional healthcare organizations for 2010.
Robert Frank, executive vice president and chief operating officer, was named president-elect of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), a leading membership organization for healthcare financial management executives and leaders with more than 35,000 members nationwide. His term will begin in July of 2010.
Frank is an alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh, having earned three degrees at the university: a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, a Master’s in Public Administration and a Master’s in Business Administration. During his 32-year career at Jefferson Regional, Frank has served as senior vice president and CFO, vice president of financial services, financial director, reimbursement director and budget and reimbursement analyst.
He is a past recipient of CFO of the Year honors from the Pittsburgh Business Times for his community service work with the Family Hospice and Palliative Care in Mt. Lebanon where he serves on the board of directors. He also serves on the board of Hospital Council of Western Pennsylvania.
Janet Cipullo, vice president, professional services/orthopedics, FACHE, was appointed president of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) of Western Pennsylvania.
ACHE is an international professional society of more than 30,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. The Western Pennsylvania chapter provides services for nearly 400 healthcare executives, managers and staff in 26 counties of Pennsylvania, a region that includes nearly 100 tertiary and community hospitals.
Cipullo has a Master of Public Management degree in Health Care Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She has served Jefferson Regional Medical Center in various leadership capacities over the past 35 years.
Louise Urban, RN, vice president, Patient Care Services and chief nursing officer, was named president-elect of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders (SWPONL).
A non-profit, personal membership society of more than 200 members, SWPONL promotes excellence in the practice of nursing administration by providing regularly scheduled networking opportunities for nurseor leaders, advancing the practice of and supporting research in nursing administration, promoting regulatory and legislative advocacy initiatives and pursuing collaborative relationships with affiliated organizations.
Urban, a graduate of the Western Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing, earned a Master of Science degree in Health Service Administration at University of St. Francis, Joliet, Ill., and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at California University of Pennsylvania. At Jefferson Regional, she has served in a variety of clinical care and nursing leadership roles.
