‘Daily Steps to Less Stress’ Program Coming to Jefferson Regional

Jefferson Regional Medical Center will kick off the New Year with a new program from Highmark designed to help people manage the stress in their lives.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, routine stress from the pressures of work, family and everyday responsibilities can take a toll on our bodies from which serious health problems – including heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, depression and anxiety disorder – can result.

The new program, Daily Steps to Less Stress, meets one hour a week for six weeks and is led by qualified health professionals. It is designed to identify and reduce personal stress through practical relaxation techniques and innovative stress management strategies.

Daily Steps to Less Stress will start on Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the Cardiac Rehabilitation department at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, 565 Coal Valley Road, Jefferson Hills. The program is free for those with Highmark insurance and available for a nominal fee to non-Highmark members. Call 412-469-7100 to register.

Jefferson Regional also offers additional Highmark wellness programs, including Eat Well for Life, Personal Nutrition Coaching, HOPE Osteoporosis Prevention and Education Program, Spectrum: Finding Your Optimal Health and Drop 10 in 10®, which includes a small fee for materials.
