Online Pathfinders
A library pathfinder is an organized summary of various types of research sources and materials that relate to a specific topic.
Each pathfinder is designed to aid the reader in systematically locating materials on subjects with which they have little or general familiarity.
The Behan Health Science Library offers the following pathfinders
as part of the Chronic Pain Information Service at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
- Arthritis:
The word arthritis refers to joint inflammation, but is often used to refer to a group of rheumatic diseases.
- Back Pain:
Four out of five adults experience at least one bout of back pain at some time during their lifetime.
- Chronic Pain:
Chronic pain includes any pain lasting longer than six months, and can be caused by diseases, syndromes, injuries, or surgeries.
- Diabetic Nerve Pain:
Diabetic neuropathies are a family of nerve disorders caused by diabetes.
- Fibromyalgia:
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain illness characterized by widespread musculoskeletal aches, pain, and stiffness.
- Repetitive Strain Injuries:
RSI is also called cumulative trama disorder, overuse syndrome, and repetitive motion syndrome.
