Offering Hope Through Weight Loss Surgery
Obesity is associated with many health problems, including high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, gallbladder disease, sleep apnea, diabetes, arthritis, asthma, depression and more.
A multidisciplinary, comprehensive bariatric surgical program at Jefferson Regional Medical Center brings hope to patients seeking a healthier lifestyle.
Jefferson Regional is partnering with Hope Bariatrics specialists Geoffrey H. Wilcox, MD, FACS, and Michael D. Felix, MD, FACS, to provide this surgery to our patients. Drs. Wilcox and Felix are respected bariatric surgeons who are certified by the American Society for Metabolic Bariatric Surgery and have performed more than 1600 bariatric surgeries since 2003.
Typical weight loss surgical candidates are 100 pounds or more overweight, have health conditions related to their excess weight, and are looking to improve their overall health and quality of life. Two types of laparoscopic procedures – Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and gastric adjustable banding – are available at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Jefferson Regional Medical Center offers the bariatric program for patients in a convenient location that will support the long-term relationship between physician and patient that is vital to successful bariatric surgery.
