AARP Smart Driver's Program
The AARP's Smart Driver Program is the nation's first and largest driver improvement program designed for mature drivers. The course is open to AARP members and non-members of all ages, and there are no tests. The cost for the program is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members.
The course covers topics such as defensive driving, new traffic laws and rules of the road, techniques for handling left turns and right-of-way, and understanding new car safety technology.
Those who complete the two-day (8 total hours) program may be eligible to receive insurance discounts.
If you’ve already taken the 8-hour course but would like to brush up on your skills, we also offer is a 1-day (4 total hours) refresher course for those who have completed the two-day course within the last 3 years.
All classes are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Jefferson Room of the James Bibro Pavilion at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
