Whether they are escorting a patient to a physical therapy session or
offering a smile and a word of encouragement to a visiting family
member, volunteers make a valuable contribution to the health care
team at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Their skills and energies
complement the services provided to patients and visitors.

An ambitious group of students from area middle and high schools add
to the ranks of our volunteers. Adults and teens annually donate more
than 100,000 hours of their time and talents to Jefferson Regional
Medical Center.
Volunteers are called upon to assist staff in many ways.
- Patient escorts
- Guest Shoppe and gift cart services
- Clerical assistance
- Information desk volunteer
- Mail room assistance
- Nursing unit assistance
- Patient representatives
- Intensive care and emergency department hosts
- Spiritual care representatives
- X-ray patient representatives
- Visitor/patient greeters
- Medical insurance counselors
- Lifeline volunteers
But volunteering isn't all about giving. Medical Center volunteers
receive personal dividends in return for their countless hours of
service. Volunteers learn new skills, make new friends and develop new
interests while realizing that they're making a difference in other
people's lives.
