Free Stroke Screening Set for June 12 in Duquesne; No Insurance Needed

During May, which is National Stroke Awareness Month, Jefferson Regional Medical Center’s Stroke Outreach Program will sponsor a free community event on Wednesday, May 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the hospital’s 2nd floor lobby area.
Jefferson Regional Medical Center Senior Services will offer new sessions of computer classes for ages 50 and up this summer. Two-day computer classes on different topics will be held on specified dates at the James Bibro Pavilion on the Jefferson Regional Medical Center campus, 565 Coal Valley Road, Jefferson Hills. Morning and afternoon classes are offered. The fee for each two-session class is $45.
Jefferson Regional Medical Center honored its team of 350 volunteers for 50,000 hours of service in 2009 at an annual recognition luncheon Wednesday, April 21 at Georgetown Centre, Pleasant Hills.
More than 100 Jefferson Regional Medical Center staff members, in addition to representatives of neighboring EMS, police and fire departments and Allegheny County first responders, staged a disaster drill Monday morning, April 12.

Lilly Oncology On Canvas, an art exhibition honoring the physical and emotional journeys people face when confronted by a cancer diagnosis, will be on display at Jefferson Regional Medical Center from April 8 to16.
